OTTAWA, ON , Aug. 9, 2024 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to join the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, President of the King's Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Sherry Romanado, Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the King's Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Emergency Preparedness, Jenica Atwin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services Canada, and Julie Dabrusin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, as they provide an update on the forecast for the 2024 wildfire and hurricane season.
Prior to the press conference, Government of Canada officials will host an embargoed media technical briefing to provide an update on the seasonal outlook for wildfires. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions to officials attending in a "for attribution" capacity.
