HAMILTON, ON, Dec. 6, 2022 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) leaders and members will hold a rally on Wednesday, December 7 to protest the dangerous decision of Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) to cut registered nurses and replace scrub nurses in operating rooms. They will also provide a way for the community to help them do so.
"Any nursing cuts from operating rooms put patient safety at risk – period," says ONA Interim Provincial President Bernie Robinson, RN. "This plan to do so must be stopped. The people of Hamilton and surrounding areas can make a difference and we will help them do so. Safe care is too important to not make everyone's voices heard."
ONA leaders and nurses will be joined at the rally by healthcare professionals, labour and community members and labour leaders. Media is invited to attend.
