Media advisory - Olympic and Paralympic sport partners to roll out new national high performance sport concussion strategy Français
CALGARY, March 15, 2019 /CNW/ - The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network, Own the Podium, Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee will hold a media event on March 18 in Calgary to release a new national high-performance sport concussion strategy.
The media gathering with Canada's chief medical officers and sport partners will be held at 10 a.m. at Canadian Sport Institute Calgary, located in the Markin MacPhail Centre at Winsport's Canada Olympic Park.
The Chief Medical Officers will discuss the comprehensive guidelines that will be implemented for concussions in high performance sport, ensuring Canada's sport system delivers high quality care to athletes in national team programs across the country throughout the athlete pathway.
The media opportunity will be held in two parts: a round-table presentation and Q&A in the CSI Calgary Athlete Lounge, followed by a visual presentation led by Dr. Brian Benson leading an athlete on the KINARM robotic technology at the Benson Concussion Institute located on the main floor of the Markin MacPhail Centre.
