TORONTO, May 8, 2019 /CNW/ - Front-line workers from the City of Toronto, Toronto Community Housing and Bridgepoint Health have collected more than 500 purses through a donation drive held by their union, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 79.
At 5:30 p.m. today, CUPE Local 79 is hosting a 'purse stuffing' party at their union hall (34 St. Patrick Street) for their members, where purses will be filled with toiletries and then donated to the City's shelters.
Media are invited to join us and celebrate a good news story amongst the discouraging provincial attacks on Toronto's public services.
