TORONTO, Feb. 20, 2020 /CNW/ - Please join us as we celebrate the revitalization and expansion of OCAD University's state-of-the-art Fabrication Centre. The heart of our university, the Centre's new spaces will improve OCAD U's studio-based learning environments.
When: |
Tuesday, February 25, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting |
Where: |
OCAD University, 100 McCaul St., Toronto |
Who: |
Dr. Sara Diamond, President & Vice-Chancellor, OCAD University |
Why is this important? The studio spaces have not been renovated since the 1950s when they were first built. Now with extensive renovations, students will have access to cutting-edge technology, including a new water-jet cutter that allows for computer-controlled cutting of metals, ceramics, stone and other materials using digital files. The renovations also demonstrate the University's commitment to improving its sustainability efforts and energy efficiency.
This exciting milestone is part of OCAD U's Creative City Campus plan, a project that will revitalize and expand the core of the institution's campus along McCaul Street in Toronto.
