Media Advisory/Photo Op - Ontario Science Centre invites visitors to explore perspectives and personal stories of women in STEM for International Day of Women and Girls in Science
TORONTO, Feb. 4, 2020 /CNW/ - The world needs science, and science needs women. On Sunday, February 9 at the Ontario Science Centre, help challenge assumptions about the world, learn from STEM leaders and address gender representation across all media platforms with a full day of programming for International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
The programming showcases successful women in STEM sharing personal stories about career opportunities, challenges and achievements. The day's events also provide opportunities for like-minded visitors to connect, including a moderated casual coffeehouse-style conversation and a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon workshop that will teach pre-registered participants how to combat the gender gap online and how to edit and create reference pages.
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated annually on February 11, recognizes the critical role women and girls play in science and technology. Broaden your perspective on what makes a great scientist as the Ontario Science Centre adds its voice to the global movement that advocates for parity in science for women.
