OTTAWA, May 27, 2019 /CNW/ - During Canadian Innovation Week, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, will preside over the Governor General's Innovation Awards ceremony at Rideau Hall, on Wednesday, May 29, at 5:00 p.m.
The awards will be presented to the following winners in recognition of their exceptional work:
- Chief Dr. Ronald Ignace (Stsmel'cqen) and Dr. Marianne Ignace (Gulḵiihlgad) - Kamloops, British Columbia
- Dr. Joelle Pineau - Montréal, Quebec
- The SmartICE team, represented by Trevor Bell, Shelly Elverum, Jenny Mosesie, Shawna Dicker - St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador
- Sweet Dreams Social Impact Bond, represented by June Draude, Eric Dillon, Walter Mah, Donald Meikle - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
- Jad Saliba - Kitchener, Ontario
- Dr. Garnette Sutherland - Calgary, Alberta
