Pride March - A Return to Basics
A March to Advocate for the Rights of 2SLGBTQI+ Persons
MONTRÉAL, Aug. 12, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montréal Pride Festival invites you to the Pride March, this Sunday August 15 as of noon at Jeanne-Mance Park. The political and social demands being put forward this year will be presented at 12:15 p.m. The event has been adapted to the current health context which does not allow for a Parade as traditionally held, and will be a return to the roots of the Pride Movement by handing back the public space to participating communities. Under the theme "Together for All", this year's Pride March with no vehicles or contingents, will focus all the attention on the voices and opinions of our sexually and gender diverse communities so that their demands may be highlighted in a context where the pandemic and its impacts had recently rendered them close to invisible. Montréal Pride is putting in place the necessary sanitary measures to ensure the safety of its festival-goers and staff members, while closely following public health recommendations. In particular, teams will be dispatched along the route to strongly recommend the wearing of masks and distancing measures.
