92% of Canadians say governments should make it a high priority to improve their service to the public
TORONTO, Jan. 24, 2023 /CNW/ - The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB)'s Red Tape Awareness WeekTM is back from January 30th to February 3rd. This year will focus on how regulatory modernization can improve Canadians' lives.
The 14th annual Red Tape Awareness Week lineup includes:
- Monday, January 30: New provincial red tape challenge: "Patients before Paperwork"
- Tuesday, January 31: The award no one wants to win: the Paperweight "Award" is announced
- Wednesday, February 1: Red Tape Report Card day for provincial and federal governments
- Thursday, February 2: Golden Scissors Award winner is announced
CFIB launched Red Tape Awareness Week 14 years ago to hold governments accountable for rules, processes, and paperwork. Red Tape Awareness Week continues to grade governments' progress, highlight good examples of regulatory modernization and where governments can reduce their red tape burden.

These are the findings of a survey commissioned by CFIB. The survey was conducted from November 18 to 21, 2022, among a nationally representative sample of n=1,507 Canadians who are members of the online Angus Reid Forum, balanced and weighted on age, gender, region and education. For comparison purposes, a probability sample of this size has an estimated margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. The survey was conducted in English and French.
