CORNWALL, ON, May 22, 2018 /CNW/ - As their strike approaches the one-week mark, members of three striking Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) locals will be joined on picket lines by members of the inside workers' Local 3251, as they too walk off the job in Cornwall on Wednesday, May 23rd.
The workers, who are paramedics (Local 5734), library workers (3251-01), and outside workers (234) have been off the job since Thursday, May 17th.
The strikers and their supporters will rally on Wednesday in front of Cornwall City Hall at 12 noon. CUPE Ontario president Fred Hahn will bring greetings to the strikers.
