GATINEAU, QC, Oct. 7, 2020 /CNW/ - The Privacy Commissioner of Canada's latest annual report is expected to be tabled in Parliament on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m. ET.
The report examines lessons learned about privacy in a pandemic. It discusses the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada's work with public and private sector organizations regarding initiatives related to the pandemic.
As well, it includes the findings of an investigation into a leak related to a Supreme Court nomination and an investigation into a website that allows patients to rate and review health care professionals.
The annual report highlights the office's work on key issues, including investigations, under both the Privacy Act, which applies to the public sector, and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, the federal private sector privacy law.
Privacy Commissioner Daniel Therrien will hold a news conference to discuss his annual report.
