The governments of Canada and British Columbia support Francophones in British Columbia.
VANCOUVER, BC, May 24, 2022 /CNW/ - The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will take part in a press conference Wednesday. She will be joined by Kelli Paddon, Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia for Chilliwack–Kent; Yvon Laberge, President of Collège Éducacentre; Kevin Hall, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Victoria; and Dr. Joël Castonguay-Bélanger, head of the French department at the University of British Columbia and board member of the Centre de la Francophonie.
They will announce significant funding for French-language postsecondary education, which will support the vitality of Francophone communities in British Columbia.
