Media Advisory - The Salvation Army Launches Iconic Kettle Campaign in Saint John with Flag Raising Ceremony at City Hall
SAINT JOHN, NB, Nov. 19, 2023 /CNW/ - On November 20th at 10:00 AM, The Salvation Army in the greater Saint John region is kicking off their iconic kettle campaign with a flag-raising ceremony at city hall, located at 15 Market Square, with deputy mayor John MacKenzie.
With the ever-increasing cost of living, plus the added expenses of Christmas, The Salvation Army once again asks for the generous support of the people of Saint John as they launch their most significant fundraising effort of the year.
"The Salvation Army believes that everyone needs an army," says Lieutenant Jason Brinson, Corps Officer Saint John, "and that's what the Christmas Kettle Campaign is about. It provides us with the funds to ensure there is a toy under the tree for every child and keeps our programs and services going to meet the increasing needs of families and individuals who come through our doors."
Contributions to the Kettle Campaign stay in the community where they were donated, allowing The Salvation Army in the greater Saint John area to provide practical assistance for all who need it. This includes support for our Hope Cafe, housing support, substance-use recovery, emergency disaster relief, Christmas assistance and more.
