Media Advisory - Theodore Too Announces Stops in Kingston, Toronto, and Hamilton Among Ontario Ports, Along with Goal to Collect 100,000 Watermarks Designed to Personalize and Recognize Water's Influence on Our Lives

BURLINGTON, ON, June 28, 2021 /CNW/ - Canada's famous and beloved tugboat, Theodore TOO announced on June 9, 2021 that he would set sail from Halifax to his new home in the Port of Hamilton and would become an ambassador to the Great Lakes and the marine industry. In addition to announcing further details of his sustainability efforts, stops in several ports across Ontario have been announced* as part of his Great Lakes tour offering opportunities for the public to take photos from the water's edge and in ports, COVID-19 protocols permitting.

Who:	Theodore TOO crew, owner Blair McKeil, President and CEO, Breakwater Investments and Mark Mattson, President Swim, Drink, Fish; Kingston, Toronto and Hamilton. All other ports via Zoom/Skype.
What:	As part of his sustainability efforts in collaboration with Swim Drink Fish, Theodore TOO hopes to collect 100,000 watermarks over the next year. Members of the public can take part in the watermark project designed to collect personal stories of people on their local waterways. This crowd-sourced initiative, THEODORE TOO Watermarks allows individuals to help researchers identify waters where people swim, drink, or fish, so that those uses can be protected in the future while building a legacy of connecting Canadians to the water.
	In Kingston, a temperature sensor will be added on board Theodore TOO. It will take surface water temperatures at his subsequent ports of call and will feed real time location and surface temperatures that inform a water quality guide for 8,000 beaches.
