MEDIA ADVISORY - Toronto Pearson hosts groundbreaking ceremony for one of the largest runway rehabilitation projects in the airport's history Français
TORONTO, April 21, 2022 /CNW/ - Deborah Flint, President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA); the Honourable Omar Alghabra, Canada's Minister of Transport; local elected officials; and representatives of construction contractor Dufferin Construction will participate in a groundbreaking ceremony for the rehabilitation of east/west Runway 06L/24R, one of the largest runway rehabilitation projects in the airport's history.
Media are invited airside at Toronto Pearson for remarks from Minister Alghabra and Deborah Flint, a short question period and a photo opportunity with construction equipment/activity in the background.
Runway 06L/24R is Pearson's second-busiest runway, and the 2022 rehabilitation will ensure the continued safe operation of the airport, contribute to the local economy, create meaningful jobs, use sustainable practices, and position the airport for recovery and growth.
