MEDIA ADVISORY - Toronto Pearson hosts ribbon cutting ceremony for one of the largest runway rehabilitation projects in the airport's history Français
TORONTO, Nov. 16, 2022 /CNW/ - Deborah Flint, President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA); the Honourable Omar Alghabra, Canada's Minister of Transport; local elected officials; and representatives of Dufferin Construction and Avia NG will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the completed rehabilitation of east/west Runway 06L/24R, one of the largest runway rehabilitation projects in the airport's history.
Media are invited to Toronto Pearson for remarks from Minister Alghabra and Deborah Flint, a short question period, a ribbon-cutting and an opportunity to capture b-roll of the newly re-opened Runway 06L/24R.
Runway 06L/24R is Pearson's second-busiest runway, and the 2022 rehabilitation project, which began in April of this year and was partially funded by the federal government's Airport Critical Infrastructure Program, was completed on time and on budget.
