Media Advisory - Unifor to begin union drive at Amazon centres in Metro Vancouver
NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, June 20, 2023 /CNW/ - Chris Smalls, a U.S. activist who led the successful drive to unionize a New York Amazon fulfillment centre, will join Unifor organizers to kick off the first major union drive at an Amazon facility in B.C.
"It's never been easier and safer to join a union in British Columbia," said Gavin McGarrigle, Unifor Western Regional Director. "Amazon workers are frustrated with issues like workload and health & safety. Starting today they can privately contact a Unifor organizer to learn more and digitally sign a union card."
