Media Advisory: Unions call press conference tomorrow regarding court challenge to Bill 18
VANCOUVER, June 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Please be advised that the Federation of Post Secondary Educators (FPSE) and the B.C Government and Service Employees' Union have scheduled a press conference tomorrow, Monday, June 11 at 11:00 am at the Robson Square court house in Vancouver.
The subject of the press conference is to announce that the two public sector unions are launching a court challenge to overturn sections of Bill 18, the Advanced Education Statutes Amendment Act that they claim violate their members' constitutional right to freedom of association.
A press release will be issued tomorrow morning, and the presidents of both unions, Cindy Oliver (FPSE) and Darryl Walker (BCGEU) will be at the press conference to make statements and to take questions from the news media.
The event will take place at the Nelson street entrance of the Robson Square court house entrance.
