LONGUEUIL, QC, July 7, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - On July 12, NASA, in partnership with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the European Space Agency, will release the James Webb Space Telescope's first full-colour science images and spectroscopic data during a televised broadcast. The official release of images and data will showcase Webb's full science capabilities, including those of Webb's Canadian instrument, NIRISS.
The CSA will participate in the broadcast, live from the John H. Chapman Space Centre.
At 12:00 p.m. ET, there will be a media briefing, hosted at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Jean Dupuis, Space Astronomy Senior Mission Scientist and René Doyon, Principal Investigator for FGS/NIRISS, Canada's contribution to Webb, will participate.
