Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence (CCCE) unites experts and those with lived experience to build the foundation of a national caregiving strategy
TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2023 /CNW/ - Caregiving is the next frontier in Canadian public policy, and to push this agenda forward, the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence (CCCE) is proudly hosting its first Canadian Caregiving Summit.
This event brings together lived experience experts, leaders, policymakers and researchers from the age, disability and illness communities to work collaboratively to lay the groundwork for a national caregiving strategy. The Summit will include keynote speakers, plenary sessions and panel discussions on the most pressing issues and barriers faced by caregivers and care providers across Canada, including LGBTQ+, Indigenous and racialized communities.
CCCE has secured a roster of distinguished Canadian and international speakers and panelists to explore caregiving in Canada and learn from successful models and lessons from other countries. Featured speakers/panelists include:
- Hon. Kamel Khera, Canada's Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities
- Alison Barkoff, U.S. Administration of Community Living, Principal Deputy Administrator
- Baroness Jill Pitkeathley, Member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom

CCCE will also host the Canadian Caregiving Gala on Monday, November 6, in alignment with the Summit. The Gala will be hosted by renowned R&B artist and Canada's Walk of Fame inductee, Jully Black, and recognize the achievements of caregivers, care providers and care-focused organizations dedicated to supporting and advocating for a brighter future of care in Canada.

CCCE is at the forefront of advocating for policy reform to improve the experience of caregivers and care providers in the future.
