TORONTO, April 26, 2021 /CNW/ - In honour of those who have been impacted by devastating workplace deaths, illnesses or injuries, the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) will be hosting an online Day of Mourning ceremony on its YouTube channel this April 28.

WHO: Speakers will include:
- Hon. Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development
- Virginia Campeau, Threads of Life speaker who lost her husband to a workplace fatality in 2015
- Elizabeth Witmer, WSIB Chair
- Tom Bell, WSIB President & CEO (A)

The WSIB has created an awareness campaign which has been shared via television, social media and its Day of Mourning website.
On the evening of April 28, various landmarks across the province will be illuminated in yellow, traditionally a colour of hope, including the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, Kitchener City Hall, Guelph City Hall (Market Square), Hamilton City Hall (HAMILTON sign) and the 3D TORONTO sign in Nathan Phillips Square.
