Fifth annual Halal Food Fest Toronto will host nearly 200 food vendors and expects over 35,000 visitors

TORONTO, July 13, 2017 /CNW/ - Beginning Saturday, July 15 to Sunday, July 16, media are invited to attend the largest Halal Food Festival (HFFTO) in North America, for the fifth year running, at The International Centre in Mississauga. With a focus on halal food, cuisines from all over the world will be represented at this year's festival. The largest HFFTO to date, this year's event will feature two days of sampling and programming from nearly 200 food booths, in-house chefs and guest chefs.

**Interviews with Halal Food Festival chefs, speakers, performers, and Salima Jivraj, event organizer, as well as photo/filming opportunities, will be made available on-site.**

WHEN:	From Saturday, July 15 to Sunday, July 16, 2017
	Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
	Sunday, July 16 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

	Cake Walk (live cake decorating competition) - hosted by Aman Ali, featuring guest judges Amanda Saab (MasterChef) and Yvonne Maffei (My Halal Kitchen) Sunday, July 16 at 11 a.m., Main Stage
	Grilling Demonstration - Chef Ahmed Baig Sunday, July 16 at 3:30 p.m., Street Fest Stage
	Notable food booth exhibitors include: The Pastry Shop - A gourmet dessert pop-up shop known for its Unicorn Cronut Rose's Halal Kitchen - Toronto's first authentic Jamaican halal restaurant Messy's Sandwiches - Known for their cross-cultural fusion dishes including Nihari Sliders, and Butter Chicken & Waffles
