TORONTO, June 18 /CNW/ - Twenty-one young women, one from each of the G20 nations and one from the African Union, will today present the Communiqué from the first-ever G(irls)20 Summit held in Toronto. Topics covered in the Communiqué include education, child and maternal health and economic opportunity - three of the UN's Millennium Goals and the focus of the upcoming G8.
For two days, the delegates participated in several in camera discussions about each topic and collectively generated tangible solutions to the challenges facing girls and women around the world.
Following the G(irls)20 Summit, the delegates will take the recommendations outlined in the Communiqué back to their countries where they can be a voice for positive change in their own communities.
