ORILLIA, ON, Jan. 9, 2013 /CNW/ - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are partnering up with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) this week to kick off Snowmobile Safety Week at General Headquarters.
Media are invited to join OPP Deputy Commissioner Larry Beechey, Provincial Commander, Traffic Safety and Operational Support, members of the OFSC and S.T.O.P. (Snowmobile Trail Officer Patrol) Program, as well as officers from the Provincial S.A.V.E. (Snowmobile ATV & Vessel Enforcement) Unit.
Media will also have the opportunity to hear from a member of the public who lost a son in an impaired snowmobiling incident.
Snowmobile Safety Week runs from January 13 to 19, 2013.
Interviews will be available following the event. Refreshments will be available.
