TORONTO, July 25, 2012 /CNW/ - It's time to get moving, Toronto! In celebration of the 45th Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival, Toronto Pearson is welcoming guests to the city's biggest celebration of all things Caribbean. On July 31, Toronto Pearson will surprise guests with a moving parade throughout the airport to kick-off the city's exciting three-week cultural explosion of Caribbean music, dance and food.
Media and airport guests are invited to experience some of the very best in Caribbean culture at the Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival kick-off event taking place in Terminals 1 and 3 at Toronto Pearson (pre-security). Canadian calypso pioneer and Juno winner, the legendary "Pan Man Pat", and the world renowned Bahamian Junkanoo Legends along with masqueraders and musicians will parade their way through the airport as guests are surprised with Caribbean treats.
ONSITE AT THE AIRPORT:
- Performance by world-renowned Bahamian Junkanoo Legends starts at Terminal 3 International Arrivals and will parade its way to Departures in Terminal 3 before heading over to Terminal 1.
- Steel pan performance by legendary "Pan Man Pat" and his musical crew.
- Parade of masqueraders will tour through both terminals to entertain departing and arriving guests as well as airport staff.
- Interviews with Toronto Pearson, Caribbean Carnival representatives and performers.
DATE: Tuesday, July 31
TIME: 3:00p.m. - 5:00p.m.
WHERE: Toronto Pearson. Media should gather at Terminal 3 International Arrivals at 3:00 p.m. Media guests may park in the Terminal 3 garage and will be provided a full parking voucher at the event.
