OTTAWA, Jan. 18, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian Paralympic Committee will announce the individual selected to the role of Chef de Mission for Team Canada for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games at an ice-level event in Ottawa on Tuesday, Jan. 24 – just over 13 months before the start of competition in PyeongChang.

The 2018 Paralympic Winter Games are set for March 9 to 18, 2018 in PyeongChang, South Korea. The Games are expected to attract up to 670 athletes competing in 80 medal events. Six sports are on the program: sledge hockey, alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, wheelchair curling and snowboard.
Canada expects to send a full team, with qualification and test events beginning this current winter season.
