MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OP - Canadian Cancer Society set to celebrate passage of Ontario's Skin Cancer Prevention Act
TORONTO, Oct. 8, 2013 /CNW/ - After seven years of advocating for indoor tanning legislation in Ontario, the Canadian Cancer Society is prepared to celebrate the anticipated passing of the Skin Cancer Prevention Act on Wednesday, Oct 9. Of the many Society volunteers who worked hard to advocate in municipalities across Ontario none has captured the hearts of the public as much as Kate Neale, a 23-year-old melanoma cancer survivor who worked at a tanning salon and used indoor tanning extensively as a young teen. Kate has been invited by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Deb Matthews to be in the House at Queen's Park on Wednesday to witness history being made.
