Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - AFP's Greater Toronto Chapter Pays Tribute to Charitable Canadians at 2013 Philanthropy Awards
Honouring Canada's youth, philanthropists, volunteers, corporations, and foundations for philanthropic excellence
TORONTO, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - As the first country to legislatively recognize today as National Philanthropy Day, Canada is proud to be a global leader in charitable efforts around the world. In honour of the occasion, organizations pay tribute to the numerous Canadians that have offered their time, energy and donations towards their causes. On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)'s Greater Toronto Chapter will celebrate the occasion at their 2013 Philanthropy Awards, the annual awards program that celebrates the outstanding contributions of Canadians.
The following extraoridinary recipients will be honoured this year:
- Margaret and Jim Fleck, Outstanding Philanthropists
- Sam and Claire Duboc, Outstanding Volunteers
- The Home Depot Canada (THDC), Outstanding Corporation
- Catherine Donnelly Foundation, Outstanding Foundation
- Rukhsar Jaffer, Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (Ages 5-17)
- Kristina and Heather DiClemente, Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (Ages 18-23)
- First Book Canada, Mo Davies Small Organization for Excellence in Fundraising
- David Love, Life Time Achievement Award
WHAT: | Since 1995, AFP's Greater Toronto Chapter has honoured outstanding Canadians who have set new standards in the acts of giving and volunteering during its annual Philanthropy Awards Luncheon. Once again, this year's luncheon will take place during AFP's Greater Toronto Chapter's annual Congress 2013 conference. |
