Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - Canadian Paralympic Committee to Announce Flag Bearer for the London 2012 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony Français
OTTAWA, Aug. 25, 2012 /CNW/ - With the majority of Team Canada now in London, anticipation is building for the opening ceremony flag bearer announcement set to take place on Sunday August 26 at 6 p.m. London time at a Canadian Paralympic Team pep rally in the Paralympic Village.
After the pep rally, the flag bearer and team will proceed to the Paralympic Village Plaza (the area known as the International Zone in previous Games) where accredited media are invited to join the team for its 7:00 p.m. official Team Welcome Ceremony.
The ceremony will be followed by media interview opportunities with the flag bearer, athletes, Chef de Mission Gaetan Tardif and Assistant Chef de Mission Elisabeth Walker-Young.
Canada has a total of 145 athletes competing in 15 sports at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, from Aug. 29 to Sept. 9. The full team list and media guide are available at www.paralympic.ca/london2012.
