Media advisory/photo opportunity - CivicAction Forum Report - 300 community leaders to politicians: "It's time to deliver on transportation investment"
TORONTO, May 14, 2013 /CNW/ - On Thursday, the Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance will deliver the conclusions of 300 community leaders on the vital issue of how to pay to invest in a regional transportation network that moves people and goods more easily across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).
The community leaders attended last month's CivicAction Forum: Our Region, Our Move. The report on their opinions will be delivered to GTHA elected officials and Metrolinx, and the leadership of CivicAction will share highlights at a media briefing at Queen's Park.
The delegates' advice is meant to guide Metrolinx as it finalizes its Investment Strategy to fund the rest of The Big Move regional transportation plan, and to guide the Province and heads of GTHA municipal councils as they decide how to act on the Metrolinx strategy once they receive it by June 1, 2013.
