Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - Governor General of Canada to visit to the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Uniform Distribution and Accreditation Centre Français
TORONTO, June 17, 2015 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will visit the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Uniform Distribution and Accreditation Centre (UDAC), and pick up his accreditation. His Excellency will follow the same accreditation process that Games-time volunteers, staff and suppliers are currently going through.
The Governor General will be greeted by Saäd Rafi, chief executive officer, TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015), before proceeding to the security screening to receive his accreditation. As part of his visit, he will also meet and greet UDAC volunteers, hand out uniform and information packages at the uniform collection station, write a message on the Pan Am wall and meet with volunteers to learn more about their preparations for the Games.
Approximately 23,000+ volunteers will make a huge contribution to ensuring the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games (July 10–26) and the Parapan Am Games (August 7–15) run smoothly. Volunteers will work in all areas of the Games in roles such as ticket takers and ushers; management and leadership roles; as well as working with athletes and delegates; translation, technology and in specialized positions such as officials and sport announcers.
