About Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region – habitatpeterborough.ca
Established locally in 2002, Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region builds safe, decent houses in partnership with homeowner families. We offer low-income families a hand-up, not a hand-out, giving them the ability to break the cycle of poverty through homeownership. The hand-up comes in the form of a zero-interest mortgage, with no down payment and geared to income monthly payments. In the last two years, Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region has helped 11 families realize their dream of homeownership. Currently, Habitat Peterborough & Kawartha Region is committed to helping four more families achieve homeownership and build brighter, more prosperous futures for themselves and their children.
