LAUNCH OF WINNIPEG SITE
The Government of Manitoba and RBC Foundation Join Pathways in Announcement of Support
WINNIPEG, Oct. 19 /CNW/ - Pathways to Education Canada, the program responsible for lowering the dropout rate and increasing access to post-secondary education among youth in low-income communities, recently launched its eleventh site in Winnipeg. On October 19, 2010, the Government of Manitoba and RBC Foundation will join Pathways to Education Canada, and other program partners and supporters, in making an announcement of support that will help Pathways serve the communities of North Point Douglas, Lord Selkirk Park and William Whyte.
In attendance to help celebrate the announcement will be The Honourable Greg Selinger, Premier of Manitoba, Rob Johnston, Regional President, RBC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan & NW Ontario, and Samuel L. Duboc, Chairman, Pathways to Education Canada.

Pathways to Education Canada is a community-based charitable organization that is reducing poverty and its effects by lowering the high school dropout rate and increasing access to post-secondary education among youth in low income communities. Pathways was developed by the Regent Park Community Health Centre which launched the initial program in 2001 and now operates in eleven communities, with programs in Toronto (Regent Park, Lawrence Heights, Rexdale and Scarborough) well as Kitchener, Ottawa, Hamilton, Montreal, Halifax, Kingston and Winnipeg.
