Prominent canadian athletes, business, political and sport industry leaders gather to celebrate philanthropic leadership & power of play
TORONTO, June 15, 2014 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, June 17, Right To Play will host a gala evening to honour Olympian and Right To Play Athlete Ambassador, Clara Hughes, and Bell President and CEO, George Cope, in celebration of their philanthropic leadership and dedication to the well-being of children and youth in Canada and around the world.
The 2012 Right To Play Tribute Dinner raised more than $1.5 million for the Toronto-based global organization, which uses sport and play as tools to educate and empower children with the skills they need to build better futures for themselves and their communities.
More than 1,300 guests are expected to attend this year, including prominent leaders from Canadian business, political and sport communities, and more than 25 Right To Play Athlete Ambassadors. Hosted by 14-time Olympics anchor, Brian Williams, the night will feature appearances by Olympian Adam van Koeverden, Raptors' GM Masai Ujiri and a special live auction with Olympian and host of Amazing Race Canada, Jon Montgomery.
