MONTREAL, Sept. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - The Canadian Paralympic Committee will announce the individual selected to the role of Chef de Mission for Team Canada for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games at a media event on Monday, Sept. 8 in Montreal – marking exactly two years to go until the start of Paralympic competition in Rio.

The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games run September 7 to 18, 2016 and will feature 4,350 athletes from 176 countries competing in 23 sports, including two new sports of para-canoe and para-triathlon. It will be the first Paralympic Games in South America. Team Canada is expected to send a team of approximately 150 athletes.
