MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Canadian Red Cross deploys Emergency
Response team to Pakistan
OTTAWA, Aug. 23 /CNW/ - As the crisis continues to devastate the lives of 20 million people, the Canadian Red Cross is deploying an Emergency Response Unit (ERU) to Shikarpour, located in the Sindh province of Pakistan.
The unit is comprised of a self-contained team of specialist professionals and pre-packed sets of standardised equipment. This will provide immediate curative, preventive and community health care to thousands of vulnerable people.
The team will be departing from the Ottawa airport this afternoon.
