TORONTO, July 12, 2012 /CNW/ - Shaftesbury and CBC today announced that popular one-hour drama series Murdoch Mysteries will be filming scenes from its sixth season on location in Queen's Park on Friday, July 13, marking the first time a television production has been granted such an opportunity in over a decade. In the episode, "The Ghost of Queen's Park," Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) investigates the mysterious death of an MPP at Queen's Park, only to find his prime suspect is an alleged ghost. The Honourable David C. Onley will make a cameo appearance in the episode as the eighth Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Sir Oliver Mowat, who served from 1897 to 1903. Murdoch Mysteries will launch on CBC this fall, starting with season five in September and season six in January 2013.
Set in Toronto at the dawn of the 20th century during the age of invention, Murdoch Mysteries is a one-hour drama series that explores the intriguing world of William Murdoch, a detective who pioneers innovative forensic techniques to solve some of the city's most gruesome murders.
