Two-week free-shipping offer will help members obtain needed supplies
VANCOUVER, June 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) will provide free shipping to its 600,000 Alberta members for two weeks to help them access clothing, gear and emergency supplies that may be needed due to the extensive flooding in the province. The move will allow people to avoid travelling to the outdoor retailer's popular store in downtown Calgary and still obtain helpful supplies like first-aid kits, flashlights, water filtration kits, dehydrated food and portable stoves.

After being closed over the weekend as part of the evacuation of downtown Calgary, MEC's store (at 830 10th Avenue SW) reopened today on reduced hours, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Store hours will be updated daily at www.mec.ca/calgary .
