Media Alert - Canada's top paper plane engineers battle it out at the Red Bull Paper Wings National Final
TORONTO, April 2, 2012 /CNW/ - With just a sheet of paper, plenty of creativity and a strong skillful arm, the high-flying competition Red Bull Paper Wings is the only contest where a paper airplane could take you around the world. Over 30 of Canada's top paper airplane masters will fight it out on April 2, 2012 at MX Aerospace Centre in Mississauga, ON to earn a spot in the Red Bull Paper Wings World Championship at Hangar-7 in Salzburg, Austria on May 4 -5.
A selection of students, whose university ID serves as a license to fly, will have the chance for an unforgettable adventure in aviation. Over the past two months, 11 qualifiers took place in universities across Canada where hundreds of aspiring paper airplane engineers and pilots—professional and amateur - set out to construct planes designed to compete in one of three categories: distance, airtime and aerobatics. Winners of each category will have a spot in the Canadian National Final where they will battle it out to win a trip on a real airplane bound for Austria to represent Canada at the Red Bull Paper Wings World Finals.
