A day of celebration for the 40th anniversary of the International Taoist Tai Chi Society, which includes a demonstration of the Taoist Tai Chi(TM) internal arts coordinated and timed simultaneously with thousands of members around the world (10 a.m. EDT), a colorful parade of international members, a dance of North America's longest traditional Chinese dragon, and speeches from international, national, and local dignitaries. Why? Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, the International Taoist Tai Chi Society is the largest nonprofit tai chi organization in the world, with more than 40,000 members in 26 countries around the world. The Society aims to spread awareness of the health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi(TM) internal arts and methods and to teach them to as many people as possible through its global network of volunteer instructors.
