TORONTO, May 17 /CNW/ - School Days, School Days... The history, wealth and culture of Toronto will come alive on Thursday May 20th as the Toronto District School Board opens its doors to its Archival, Artifact and Fine Art Collection to selected members of the media. Media will be shown selections of the TDSB Archival (textual and photographic), Artifact and Fine Art collection. The viewing is the first step in a new access program that will be announced in the next few months as programming and fundraising initiatives are developed.
The TDSB has the largest education-based archival, artifact and fine art collection in Canada including over 7,000 art works, many thousand photographs, and hundreds of thousands of historic documents, images and artifacts. In all, the collection includes over one million objects. Paintings in the vault include original works by Tom Thomson, Emily Carr, The Group of Seven, Robert Bateman and Norval Morrisseau.
Scheduled to speak briefly at the morning event are:

Media attending the Press Event will be required to sign a confidentially agreement so that the location of the vault is not publicly revealed.
