Media alert - No More Silence. Women's Public Forum to Reveal There's More Than Just Hot Flashes When it Comes to Menopause Français
MONTREAL, May 8, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - For many women experiencing menopause, hot flashes, night sweats and disrupted sleep is a reality…but there is one significant condition that is kept under the covers. Lesser known reality is that up to 75% of postmenopausal women are suffering from the symptoms of vaginal atrophy (VA).VA is a chronic condition1, where the vaginal walls become thin, fragile and inflamed due to a reduction of estrogen.2
The symptoms of VA are common, yet it's not common for women and doctors to discuss them even though there are effective treatments. That's why Dr. Cleve Ziegler, who specializes in Women's Health at the Jewish General Hospital, and Diane Collins, who suffers from VA, will be speaking at an educational public forum tonight, May 8, at the Holiday Inn Pointe-Claire, at 7 p.m. where women are invited to learn about VA, and most importantly, learn howspeaking to a doctor can improve their quality of life.
