MEDIA ALERT - PHOTO/INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY - 100 Day Countdown to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure

Hundreds of pink-clad supporters will take to University Avenue, encouraging others to help surpass this year's GTA goal of $7 million and 30,000 participants on September 30th

TORONTO, June 25, 2012 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, June 26^th, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario (CBCF Ontario) and CIBC will mark 100 days leading up to the CIBC Run for the Cure happening this year on Sunday, September 30^th. Hundreds of participants will join a pink-themed training walk, winding its way through Toronto's city streets, to remind people to register and fundraise for the CIBC Run for the Cure.

Celebrations will feature supporters parading the streets of Toronto in all things pink - pink wigs, pink makeup, pink shirts, and pink shoes. Participants will include CBCF Ontario region staff and volunteers, CIBC representatives, and 200 CIBC summer interns who are supporting the annual Post Secondary Challenge, an initiative supported by CIBC that encourages universities and colleges to fundraise for the breast cancer cause.

There will be plenty of great photo opportunities and spokespeople to interview available on-site to document the annual 100 Day Countdown to the CIBC Run for the Cure.

• Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon

WHAT

• Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure - Ontario celebrates the 100 Day Countdown to the CIBC Run for the Cure happening this year on Sunday, September 30^th.

WHERE

• START: 11:15 a.m. - Walk begins at Commerce Court with a pep talk, warm-up exercises by Booty Camp Fitness, and ribbon cutting ceremony (Corner of King Street and Bay Street)
• FINISH: 12 noon - Walk ends at the University of Toronto's University College Quad
