BIXI Bicycle Service to Celebrate its First Birthday at Several Downtown Bike Stations

TORONTO, May 3, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - On Thursday May 3^rd, BIXI is celebrating its first birthday with a series of celebrations at bike stations around the city.

The celebrations will feature a stunt rider, gifts and giveaways, and special surprises for Torontonians passing by. The BIXI team will be on-the-go throughout this festive day, stopping at five different bike stations, having fun and engaging with the community along the way.

There will be plenty of great photo opportunities and interviews available on-site to document this milestone event as BIXI celebrates its one year anniversary on the streets of Toronto.

• Celebrating BIXI Toronto's one year anniversary

WHERE:

• Various BIXI bike locations in the downtown Toronto core.
• The first location will be at the BIXI bike station located at College and Borden at 8:00 a.m. Please see below for the locations/times of subsequent BIXI events:
• College and Borden: 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. (Northwest of intersection)
• King and Spadina: 9:50 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. (Southeast of intersection)
• Yonge and Dundas:  11:40 a.m. - 1:10 p.m. (Southwest of intersection)
• Queen and University: 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Northwest of intersection)
• Bay and Bloor: 3:20 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Southeast of intersection)

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES

• Michel Philibert, Director of Communications, Marketing and Government Relations at BIXI will be on hand to discuss BIXI's first year in Toronto, provide interesting statistics regarding Torontonian's usage of the service, and share his thoughts on what can be expected from BIXI in its sophomore season in Toronto.
