Media Alert - Sail-In Cinema™ August 16 Screening of E.T. - the Extraterrestrial Cancelled Due to Rain and Risk of Lightning
TORONTO, Aug. 16, 2014 /CNW/ - Due to the rain, wind and a forecast of lightning in the Toronto area this evening, and for the safety of guests and crew members, the Toronto Port Authority (TPA) has cancelled the August 16 screening of E.T. - the Extraterrestrial.
Despite the chilly weather, more than 3,500 people and 40 boats braved the cold to enjoy the TPA's 4th annual Sail-In Cinema festival over the past two days. This year's "Creature Craze" themed movie lineup, chosen by the 4,900 public votes, included:
- Thursday, August 14: Jaws
- Friday, August 15: Jurassic Park
- Saturday, August 16: E.T. - the Extraterrestrial - CANCELLED
Sail-In Cinema offers Torontonians the unique chance to enjoy classic feature films beneath the stars along Toronto's waterfront. Viewable by land or boat, the movies are projected onto a floating, two-sided, 700-pound, four-story screen placed atop a barge anchored in Toronto's Harbour.
