WHAT: |
Tim Hortons annual holiday cups have arrived, featuring festive sweater motifs and #WarmWishes, and to celebrate, Tim Hortons has launched a social media campaign around the hashtag. Canadians are encouraged to spread holiday cheer by sharing their kind gestures and goodwill using #WarmWishes and @TimHortons on Twitter and Instagram. For every social share, Tim Hortons will pay-it-forward and donate a toque to a child in need through the Tim Horton Children's Foundation. Tim Hortons' goal is to provide up to 10,000 children with a warm and cozy toque. |

To help get guests into the holiday spirit, Tim Hortons has "yarn-bombed" its TimsRunner (Tim Hortons' mobile coffee truck) in the same sweater motif as its new holiday cups, and today, the TimsRunner will be serving complimentary Dark Roast coffee to passersby. |
|||
Using red and white yarn to replicate the medium-sized Tim Hortons to-go holiday cup, the TimsRunner was meticulously wrapped (i.e., knitted, thanks to Toronto-based knitting store, Lettuce Knit) in a warm, fuzzy "sweater" to bring smiles and warmth to Torontonians. When the time comes to remove the sweater, the yarn will be washed and repurposed into blankets that will be donated to a local shelter. |
