Media Alert: Winterlicious event - Pulp Kitchen: Rising Chef Citrus Cook-off at Mildred's Temple Kitchen
TORONTO, Jan. 30, 2012 /CNW/ -
What: Mildred's Temple Kitchen will once again play host to a zesty battle between citrus aficionados when three students compete in the Florida Department of Citrus' 'Pulp Kitchen: Rising Chef Citrus Cook-Off'. As part of Winterlicious 2012, presented by American Express® and produced by the City of Toronto, student chefs will create three citrus-themed dishes (one appetizer, entrée and dessert) featuring fresh Florida grapefruit, grapefruit juice and orange juice. While watching the chefs duel, about 100 guests will enjoy a four-course citrus menu created by Chef du Cuisine Taylor McMeekin. The competition's $2,000 grand prize winner will be determined by a panel of three local culinary experts, who will judge the student competitors on taste, originality and creativity, presentation and connection to local Ontario ingredients while complementing Florida citrus.
