Plan International Canada Global Ambassador Sophie Grégoire Trudeau to participate in youth-led event to bring gender equality to the top of Canada's agenda
VANCOUVER, June 3, 2019 /CNW/ - A ground-breaking initiative based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Youth for Gender Equality (YGE) project will showcase the first-ever Youth-Led Roadmap for Gender Equality: A Plan to Achieve Sustainable Development Goal 5 in Canada at Women Deliver 2019 in a publicly accessible event at CanWaCH Canada Pavilion on June 5, 2019.
Youth for Gender Equality is a three-year initiative co-led by Plan International Canada and the Canadian Teachers' Federation that engages youth from all over Canada to convene and discuss how to spearhead progress towards achieving SDG 5. The Roadmap is the most extensive, youth-led recommendation document for achieving SDG 5 of its kind in Canada.
Be part of history in the making as youth leaders present their SDG 5 recommendations and discover how we can achieve gender equality in Canada and beyond. These inspiring youth voices will reveal their findings and share their insights on how we can create an equitable society for people of all genders, abilities and ethnicities and bring gender equality to the top of Canada's agenda.
