TORONTO , Sept. 16 /CNW/ - Today, Wednesday, September 16th 2009 , Miss Ava Cado , Mexico's sultry avocado ambassador, will be travelling north in honour of Mexican Independence Day to introduce Toronto to her culture, music and her favourite creamy fruit: Avocados from Mexico . This colourful event will take place outside of Union Station on Front Street (corner Bay) from 6 am to 11 am .

    
    Festivity highlights will include:
    - A 20,000 avocado giveaway to passersby
    - Raising of the Mexican flag and speech by Mexico's Consul General in
      Toronto, Carlos Pujalte in honour of Mexican Independence Day
    - Sweet sounds from a live mariachi band and authentic Mexican dance
      demonstrations
    - Tasty avocado recipe demonstrations by the Food Network's Chef Juan
      Salinas, including authentic guacamole and a scrumptious chocolate
      avocado dessert
    - An appearance by Mexico's sultry avocado ambassador, Miss Ava Cado
    - Unveiling of Miss Ava Cado's first telenovela, part one of an animated
      series based on her journey to Toronto and the dramatic unfolding of a
      love triangle between Ava and her two romantic hopefuls: Senor Guac and
      Sir Lantro
    - A chance to win an all-inclusive trip to the Riviera Maya, courtesy of
      Signature Vacations and the Imperial Maya Resort hotel
