Media Alert/Photo Opportunity - The Canadian Cancer Society Rallies Canadians
to Take Their Best Shot at Cancer
THE PHOTO: A giant wall at Yonge and Eglinton, featuring the word "cancer" across it, will be the target of some of the city's top community leaders, celebrities, cancer researchers and cancer survivors. Leading the charge in the morning, they will encourage Torontonians to come throughout the day to throw paint balloons as hard as they can onto the wall - to publicly show they've joined the fight and to help symbolically eradicate "cancer."
The participants all have a message: we will not back down until we make cancer history. The new "Join the Fight!" movement transforms the sadness and anger that cancer causes into a new and impassioned resolve to fight back against cancer. The movement is an unstoppable collective force of people who are pledging to fight back with their time by volunteering; with their voice by spreading the word; and with important donations to help fund research and support services. Canadians can get involved in the movement by visiting www.fightback.ca.
